Police Scotland reports rise in Christmas drink-drivers

Police Scotland has reported a rise in drink-drivers over Christmas and New Year. During the four-week anti-drink-drive campaign police stopped 19,000 drivers and found 1 in 30 to be over the legal limit. This compares with 1 in 36 for the same period last year. In total 625 drivers were found over the limit. Of these 9% tested between the old and new limit (introduced in December 2014). this compares with 4% in 2015-16.
