Younger drivers at greater risk of being caught drink driving say Police

Thursday, January 22, 2015

The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) has warned that younger drivers are proportionally at greater risk of failing a breath-test than over 25 year olds.

Releasing national figures for the December 2014 anti-drink-drive campaign ACPO announced that 6.33% of under 25s failed a breath test compared to 3.94% of over 25s.

Overall there was a lower number of tests conducted but a higher failure rate by percentage following the introduction of an intelligence-led approach involving more targetted testing.
