About AlcoSense

AlcoSense's Laboratory based in Maidenhead, Bekrshire.

Based in Maidenhead, Berkshire, AlcoSense Laboratories is a leading manufacturer of alcohol breathalysers.

It all started back in 2005 by Hunter Abbott, Managing Director of AlcoSense after a wakeup call…

“I was at a friend’s wedding and James and I had been drinking together at the reception, we were definitely merry but I wouldn’t say we were drunk. The following morning we left the hotel at about noon, James went his way and I went mine. I got home safe and sound but later that evening James called. He’d been stopped by the Police for speeding, got breathalysed and failed.

All of a sudden I realised that James and I had been matching our drinks, I too was probably over the limit when I was driving home from the wedding, completely unaware that I was. James lost his licence for 12 months, and then shortly after he lost his job as a result. The problem was that there was no way of telling when the alcohol had cleared your system, and because everyone’s different you can’t even calculate it.” - Hunter Abbott

Since then, AlcoSense Laboratories has won more independent group tests and awards for the performance of our breathalysers than any other brand in the UK and has grown to be the UK leader in consumer breathalysing.

With AlcoSense, you can easily get the right breathalyser to meet your needs and ensure accurate readings wherever you are!

Why using an alcohol breathalyser is important

Using an alcohol breathalyser is not only important for the safety of you and your family, but for society in general. As a responsible driver, you can take steps to avoid driving while intoxicated by using a breathalyser to ensure that your blood alcohol concentration remains below legal limits. By doing so, you can help reduce the number of fatalities and serious injuries due to drunk driving - something that is sadly far too common. If more people checked their sobriety with breathalysers before getting behind the wheel, there would be a significant decrease in accidents on our roads caused by alcohol-impaired driving.

How to use an alcohol breathalyser correctly

Operating a personal breathalyser device is easy enough, but there are a few things to bear in mind for accurate results. To get good readings, you need to make sure that your mouth doesn't contain any food or drink and that nothing you have put in the last 20 minutes or so could affect your readings. You should also ensure you don't smoke beforehand as this can also skew the results. Lastly, exhale steadily into the instrument according to the instructions and allow it time to analyse, this is typically a couple of seconds. By following these simple steps you can be sure of getting fast, accurate readings every time.

AlcoSense Laboratories is a company with a mission - to make everyone safer on the roads. We offer different types of alcohol breathalysers for personal and professional use.
