In a shocking initiative drink drivers in Thailand are forced to tour hospital morgues

Convicted drink drivers are being made to visit hospital morgues to improve the country’s road safety record.

 

Thailand is the second worst country in the world for road deaths. According to insurance figures 11,370 people died on Thai roads last hear but the World Health Organisation (WHO) calculates the figure to be much higher.

 

Since the scheme was introduced in April 1,700 convicted drink drivers have visited morgues.
