Three quarters of the public support a lower drink drive limit according to a new poll by Public Health England.

77% of people in England are in favour of the law being changed so drivers are legally allowed to consume less alcohol before getting behind a wheel. Scotland reduced its drink drive limit in 2014 to 0.05%BAC and Northern Ireland has passed legislation allowing it to do so.

The current legal limit in England, Wales and Northern Ireland of 0.08%BAC is the highest across Europe - only matched by Malta.
